Relax – Take A Break

Find Clarity in a Moment of Calm

Pattaya, Thailand – looking out at Koh Larn – August 2023

I’m so glad you’re here. Go ahead and pour yourself your favourite drink, settle into a comfortable spot, and let your shoulders drop. This corner of my blog is where I share the places that have helped me breathe a little deeper, reflect a little longer, and remember the beauty of taking a break.

I share pieces of my journey through — and out of — years of domestic abuse. These experiences shaped me, but they no longer define me. I hope that something in my story will offer comfort, courage, or clarity to someone who needs it.

I’m a down‑to‑earth Christian woman who loves simple joys: quiet mornings, good conversations, and the feeling of peace that comes from knowing God has carried me through every season. I am now seventy-two years young. I’ve been blessed with three children, eleven grandchildren, and a wonderfully large family of five sisters and five brothers — with me right in the middle of the bunch.

My life has been a mix of sweet moments and difficult chapters, but I’ve always had a hopeful spirit. That little spark of positivity has helped me walk through trials and celebrate the good days with gratitude. As I begin sharing more of my travels, I hope you’ll join me in discovering how stepping away — even briefly — can restore the heart and remind us of the life we were meant to enjoy.

Relax - Take a Break

My name is Patricia Young, and I am 72 years old. I am here to share my journey and to help others who have faced the challenging path of domestic abuse. While I may not have experienced much severe physical harm, the emotional and mental scars I carry are profound. Yet, I have discovered a strength and resilience within me that I never knew existed. I want to reach out to women in their later years: you are not alone on this journey. It is absolutely possible to reclaim your strength, recognize your worth, and rise above the pain of abuse. Our past does not define us; we have the power to rewrite our stories and lift each other as we move forward. Together, we can stand strong, support one another, and break the silence surrounding these painful experiences. Remember, our voices matter, and it's never too late to seek help and start anew. You deserve love, respect, and a brighter future.
