My Vision: Crossing the Bridge to Freedom and Peace

Let’s cross the bridge to freedom and a peaceful life together.

My story has travelled far and wide over the years, but sharing it has often felt messy and overwhelming. Not every journey is neat or simple — some chapters are complicated, emotional, and hard to revisit. Yet through it all, I’ve slowly found strength and peace within myself. It has taken many years, but each challenge I faced helped me grow stronger. Today, every morning feels like a fresh start.

I am finally at peace, and I have forgiven my abuser. With that healing, I feel ready to begin sharing my story.

One day, I looked into my ex‑husband’s eyes with hope and asked, “Are you willing to repair your relationship with our children?” His quiet reply — “No” — broke my heart. After he left for work, I gently packed my car, left a note explaining my departure, and drove away. I also sent a copy of the note to one of his sisters, wanting someone to understand why I needed to leave.

I know the pain of living with someone whose anger fills the room. But my love for my children and grandchildren has always been steady and strong, and I will always stand by them.

For many victims of domestic abuse, speaking out can feel frightening. But breaking the silence is a powerful step toward healing. It is never too late to share your truth. Your voice matters, and your story may help someone else find their way to safety and peace.

I am grateful to say that I kept my promise to myself and never again returned to my abuser. Leaving was not easy — it felt like stepping off a wild roller coaster — but freedom was waiting on the other side. Healing takes time, and the journey can feel uncertain, but it is possible.

Travel has also been healing for me. I’ve gathered many meaningful and lighthearted stories from my adventures, and one day I will share them. For now, I feel called to focus on the effects of abuse and how to escape it. I want this blog to offer comfort, guidance, and hope.

Finding strength and peace within myself has taken many years. But with every step forward, I gained new courage.

And now, each day I wake up with a fresh start — a new beginning.
