She Is Stronger Than She Knows

You deserve a relationship where your heart feels calm, not afraid. A place where you feel safe, valued, and understood — not walking on eggshells or trying to predict someone’s anger.

It is not your job to fix a person who keeps choosing to hurt you. When someone harms you and then apologizes, it’s natural to hope the apology means real change.

But abuse is not one moment — it is a repeating cycle. The gentle words, the sweetness, the sudden calm after a fight can feel comforting, but they are often just the quiet before the next storm.

Each time you go back, the cycle tightens, and the hurt sinks deeper into your body, your mind, and your spirit.

Staying can feel like loyalty, like love, like trying to hold your world together. But leaving is not failure. Leaving is courage. Leaving is choosing truth over fear.

You cannot change someone who refuses to change themselves. And if you ever become a parent, these patterns will not stop with you — they will shape your children’s hearts, their sense of safety, and the way they learn to love.

You have every right to dream of a future where you feel safe and free from fear. A future that is filled with kindness, respect, and true love.

You deserve to become the incredible woman you’re meant to be — strong, calm, and free from anything or anyone that tries to hold you back or make you feel small.

Take care of your life, your happiness, and your future. You truly deserve to be safe, to be loved, and to live a life that brings you joy rather than pain.

Relax - Take a Break

My name is Patricia Young, and I am 72 years old. I am here to share my journey and to help others who have faced the challenging path of domestic abuse. While I may not have experienced much severe physical harm, the emotional and mental scars I carry are profound. Yet, I have discovered a strength and resilience within me that I never knew existed. I want to reach out to women in their later years: you are not alone on this journey. It is absolutely possible to reclaim your strength, recognize your worth, and rise above the pain of abuse. Our past does not define us; we have the power to rewrite our stories and lift each other as we move forward. Together, we can stand strong, support one another, and break the silence surrounding these painful experiences. Remember, our voices matter, and it's never too late to seek help and start anew. You deserve love, respect, and a brighter future.
